After surgery
After surgery, with your surgeon's go-ahead
We see people once their surgeon says massage is fine. That is your surgeon's call, and we will not make it for you.
Ask at a follow-up visit whether massage is fine yet, and which areas to leave alone. Bring their note to your first visit, or email it ahead. Dorinda reads it with you, works only where it says yes, and keeps to the lightest pressure. If your surgeon asks you to wait, we move your visit without any fuss.
Your surgeon's note before the first visit
Only the areas they have cleared
The lightest pressure, and a stop at any moment

The note
What to ask your surgeon's office for
A line or two on paper or by email is enough.
That massage is fine now
In your surgeon's words, with the date.
Areas to leave alone
Any part of the body we should not touch yet.
What to wear or keep on
Any garment or dressing you have been asked to keep as it is.
Gentle pressure
How we work after surgery
Lighter than you expect
Slow strokes with about the weight of a hand, and a check at the start.
Only where you are cleared
Areas your surgeon has asked us to avoid stay untouched and covered.
No promises
This is gentle massage. We do not promise any result, and we do not give medical advice.
You can stop
Say so and we stop at once, whenever and for whatever reason.
Questions about visits after surgery
Do I need a note?
Yes, for a visit after surgery. Bring your surgeon's note, or email it before you come. If you do not have one yet, we will hold your time while you ask.
What if my surgeon says to wait?
Then we wait. We will move your visit, and you can book again whenever they say it is fine.
Can you tell me when I am ready?
No. That decision belongs to your surgeon, who knows your surgery and your health.
What should I wear?
Whatever your surgeon has told you to wear, or whatever is comfortable. We work around it, and you stay covered.
