Your first visit, in order

A first visit is a little longer than the session, to leave time to talk.

  1. 01

    Step 1: Book your visit

Book a session online. After surgery, choose the after-surgery session, and email your surgeon's note ahead if you can.

  2. 02

    Step 2: What to bring

Your surgeon's note, if the visit is after surgery, and whatever you have been asked to wear or keep on.

    • Your surgeon's note (after surgery)

    • Soft, loose clothing

    • Any instructions about garments or dressings

    • Areas your surgeon asked us to avoid

  3. 03

    Step 3: When you arrive

Come five or ten minutes early. The street-level door is on Walnut Street, with a level way in and metered parking on the block. Dorinda reads your note with you before you go in.

  4. 04

    Step 4: What to expect

A short talk, then the session: covered by a sheet, one area uncovered at a time, with slow, light strokes. We check the pressure at the start and you can stop whenever you like.

  5. 05

    Step 5: Afterward

Rest a few minutes before you get dressed. Book your next visit at the door or online, and tell us whenever your surgeon changes what is cleared.

Bring your surgeon's note

After surgery, it is the first thing we ask for.

It tells us that massage is fine now, which areas to leave alone and anything you have been asked to wear. We read it with you at the start of the visit, and keep to it. A line or two on paper, or emailed ahead, is enough.

Without a note we will hold your time while you ask, and begin when you have it. You can change your mind at any moment.
